Micromotors are great for precise, high speed work, such as light de-burring, bright cutting in jewelry and fine details in woodcarving.
• These handpieces may run even smoother than a flex shaft handpiece,
although the ‘motor’ in a micromotor is inside the handpiece, and speeds can go as high as 50,000 RPM.
• A control box or foot control controls the speed. Control boxes allow
selection of speed, dial vs foot speed control, direction of rotation, in some
cases voltage may be selected.
• Foredom offers high speed rotary, hammer, high torque, portable, brushless
and brush-type micromotor kits plus kits with two handpieces that combine these uses.
